Building a crew
That's the object in Skallywaggs. It's easy enough, take one head, chest, and leg card out of your hand and place them in front of you and you have a crewmember.

In the world of Skallywaggs however, not all crewmembers are created equally. In the example to the right you'll see that the head and chest cards say SHIPS SURGEON, those are just two of the three cards necessary to complete a Ships Surgeon, one of the game's many main characters. If you had the third part and completed the character his rules would come into play, one of them being that your whole crew would be immune to Scurvy & Pox. What's Scurvy & Pox? It's one of the 30 event cards that can cause you to lose crewmembers.

Ok, so we have an almost Ships Surgeon. Can anything be done about it? Yes. In Skallywaggs body parts seldom stay put. Players constantly use event cards to improve the cards in their crew and weaken the cards in other crews. Did we warn you Matey? This is a game of cutthroats!
